Welcome to Stonecroft Country Inn, a Mystic B&B nestled on 6.5 rolling acres of lush lawns and terraced gardens in the Connecticut countryside. Originally the 1807 estate of Sea Captain Shubel Smith, Stonecroft Country Inn offers two distinct lodging options amidst an atmosphere of relaxation and romance.
Our unique property offers two inns in one – a sunny 1807 Georgian Colonial with wide plank floors and wood burning fireplaces; and a newly renovated post and beam barn, we call The Grange, featuring luxurious accommodations with whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces. Whichever you choose, Stonecroft Country Inn ensures a quiet country haven for the discriminating traveler. Our Mystic inn is particularly suitable for couples seeking a romantic getaway or relaxing Connecticut vacation.
The Inn is conveniently located in Ledyard – just minutes to downtown Mystic, the Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium, and close to Long Island Sound. A brief drive away is all the excitement of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos. These spectacular venues offer games of chance and world-class entertainment just a short distance from our tranquil retreat. If sunny beaches are what you seek, we are only 20 minutes to Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island or Ocean Beach in New London, CT. And, for one of the most popular day trips in New England, we are just 45 minutes from Newport, RI.

Guest Rooms The Grange is an 8,000 square foot newly converted post and beam barn sitting atop the massive granite fieldstone foundation, which is included on the National Register of Historic Places. A reception area, a small lounge, and four luxury guest rooms with private baths are housed on the first floor. Two premier suites with spectacular en suite baths make up the second floor. All Grange rooms are air-conditioned, decorated in English, American, or French Country styles, and have fireplaces, two-person whirlpool tubs and separate showers. <br />

Breakfast and dinner are served in the ground floor dining room, which is decorated in the style of an English country manor and features a comfortably furnished lounge area with fireplace. French doors open onto a landscaped stone terrace for outdoor dining overlooking the grapevine-shaded pergola, and water garden. Our European trained chef prepares international cuisine. Dinner is also available to nonresident guests by prior reservation - an elegant 1807 country inn.
